This is from Maryland, which has a small number of western "panhandle" counties with shale gas potential, but — like New York — they haven't gotten started yet.

It's interesting to me because it's a reasonable call for a planned, regulated, sensible, pro-environment approach to natural gas drilling. This kind of sentiment is refreshing because it's so increasingly rare. Instead, we have a polarized tug of war between "Kill the drill" and "Drill, baby, drill."

I don't think either slogan should be ultimately persuasive in New York. Instead, we need arguments like this guy's:
